To book or cancel a GILLS session, either visit us in CILL or phone 2766 7526 to talk to our staff.
GILLS is a scheme operated by the Centre for Independent Language Learning (CILL) to help small groups of learners who need professional guidance in the development of the English language skills they need for their studies and future career.
GILLS sessions are on weekdays from late morning to early evening, depending on staff availability. Come to CILL and look in the GILLS booking book to see what hours are available. Students can book a session up to three weeks in advance.

Register as CILL members. You must be a CILL member before you join GILLS. | Introduce and explain the program to learners. |
Form a group of learners with common English language
interests. Choose a name for the group |
Work out a "contract" with learners:

See a GILLS tutor to negotiate a program and follow it through. | Monitor progress, help learners select materials & activities, and keep a record for each session. |
Book a time(s) and be punctual. If the group cant come, inform the Centre the day before either by e-mail, by phone on 2766 7526, or in person by visiting the Centre. |
Ensure learners attend regularly. |
Actively participate in group activities. | Monitor and participate in group activities. |
Be ready to discuss problems and progress with a GILLS tutor. | Provide feedback and help for learners. |
Write feedback in the student's learner diary. | Give feedback in learners diaries. |
