Aim:
This page is a Frequently-asked Question (FAQ) page for questions about the CILL EAP
Diary. You can send it your questions by clicking this e-mail link:
. As we receive questions, we will add them, and answers to them,
to the list below.
Read a newspaper, magazine or journal article - you can do this at home or
on the bus etc.
Write an essay, or part of an essay - you can do the writing outside the
CILL, and just bring it to the CILL teacher for comments
Speak in a seminar or presentation practice - you can do this with your
classmates at any time and in any place that it is convenient for you to get
together. To prepare, you can use some of the CILL online
materials for EAP
Pronunciation - you can study this online,
but we don't have an online test
For CILL teachers' comments in your diary, you can drop it off in A305 and
collect it later, or drop in to see the CILL teacher at the Help Desk. Here
are the CILL opening hours.
How
do I know how many hours I have completed in the CILL?
Every time you enter and exit the CILL you should swipe your student ID card
on the Smartcard reader. Our computer will use this information to
automatically record how much time you have spend. You can check this by using
the special card reader attached to the computer on the blue table between
reception and the big plasma T.V., as shown in the picture on the right.
